STEP 19 – LOSS OF LIBIDO

broken image

LOSS OF LIBIDO is a symptom experienced by many people with severe and persistent low mood.

It can be caused by physical factors, such as tiredness, head tension, weight changes, or muscle soreness, but can also be combined with negative feelings such as worthlessness, apathy, guilt or shame, and anxious feelings. These can all decrease libido and, consequently, can impact your relationship with your spouse.

Patience and communication are important, as people with severe low mood view themselves negatively and may also be less loving and tolerant towards their spouse, too, as they struggle with their own emotions and self-worth.

For spouses, it can be difficult to view severe low mood as an illness. Helping to uplift mood and be an encouragement during times of severe low mood can itself foster intimacy, even if that just includes holding hands, cuddling together, laughing, and being close.

Essential Oils that can support and promote a healthy libido include:

• Ylang Ylang

• Neroli

• Jasmine

• Rose

• Geranium

• Clary Sage

• Sandalwood

• Inspiring Blend

• Women’s Perfume Blend

• Women’s Monthly Blend

YLANG YLANG Essential Oil is derived from the star-shaped flowers of the tropical YLANG YLANG tree and is used extensively in making perfumes and in aromatherapy. It is the #1 Essential Oil aphrodisiac.

Similar to Jasmine, YLANG YLANG has been used for centuries in religious and wedding ceremonies. In aromatherapy, YLANG YLANG is used to lessen tension and stress and to promote a positive outlook by lifting the mood and calming emotions.

YLANG YLANG is frequently used in luxurious hair and skin products for its scent and its nourishing and protective properties.

Taken internally, YLANG YLANG provides antioxidant support. YLANG YLANG blends well with Bergamot, Geranium, Grapefruit, and Vetiver.

• Refresh your skin with an aromatherapy steam facial using YLANG YLANG.
