STEP 10 – IRRITABILITY AND ANGER

Symptoms such as sadness, lethargy, sleep disturbances, and weight changes are now well recognized as being associated with persistent low mood, but ANGER AND IRRITABILITY are also two common emotions in this condition.

People may become increasingly irritable and angry with virtually everything and everyone in their lives. Angry outbursts are more common in males but can affect females too. People can experience inexplicable and rapidly changing moods and find that nothing their co-workers, family, friends, children, or spouse does is right.

Anger and hostility may be more apparent as emotional regulation is impaired when someone has persistent low mood. People who are already quick to lash out due to their temperament, culture, or upbringing may find that their low mood is expressed through anger and irritability. Underlying emotions of sadness, anxious feelings, and shame may be present, but not necessarily expressed outwardly.

Essential Oils that can calm emotions are beneficial:

PRACTICAL USES

• Begin your day by putting the GROUNDING BLEND on the bottoms of your feet to promote feelings of calmness and tranquility throughout the day.

• Apply to your wrists or neck to help ease anxious feelings.

• Diffuse in your car during road trips to create a calming, soothing environment.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

DIFFUSION: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.

TOPICAL USE: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.

CAUTIONS

Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
